Dr. Rachelle Pavelko is an Assistant Professor of Public Relations in the Slane College of Communications and Fine Arts at Bradley University. She earned her Ph.D. in Mass Communication from Indiana University in 2017, a M.A. in Journalism from the University of Memphis, and a B.A. in Journalism from Ohio Northern University. 

Her research interests center on health communication and media effects—more specifically, how media trivialize certain mental illnesses and the relationship between trivialization and stigmatization processes. She has published scholarly articles in Journal of Health Communication; Computers in Human Behaviors; Health Education Journal; Imagination, Cognition and Personality; among others.
