Biography
Dr. Pavelko is an Assistant Professor in Public Relations in the Department of Communication. She earned her Ph.D. in Mass Communication from The Media School at Indiana University in 2017, a M.A. in Journalism from the University of Memphis in 2011, and a B.A. in Journalism from Ohio Northern University in 2009.
Her research interests focus on health communication and media effects, including communication about and perceptions of persons with mental illnesses that often fall victim to social biases. She has published in Journal of Health Communication, Computers in Human Behavior, Journal of Radio & Audio Media, and Health Communication, among others.
