Biography

I began my professional career working as a juvenile probation officer. Working with kids led me to want to pursue my masters in school counseling. While pursuing my master’s degree in school counseling I worked as an advocate for domestic violence victims. Once I completed my master’s degree I worked as a school counselor for 15 years. I worked with middle school and high school students. In 2017 I pursued my PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision and completed it in December 2020. Since then, I have been a Counselor Educator, teaching masters level counseling students.

I enjoy traveling, reading and spending time with my husband, daughter and 1 dog and 2 cats.

Teaching

I love watching my students evolve into counselors. Helping them in their journey of growth to become counselors and helps others is the highlight of my job. The courses I currently teach are: Loss and Grief Counseling, Crisis Intervention Counseling, Professional School Counseling in Secondary Schools, Clinical Supervision and Consultation
