Dr. Burroughs joined the department in 2019. She is a certified health education specialist (CHES).


Dr. Burroughs teaches classes in public health education including School Health Promotion and Public Health Policy.


Dr. Burroughs’s research interests include young adult substance abuse and social media-focused research, specifically regarding women’s health issues.


In addition to serving on committees at the department and university level, Dr. Burroughs also serves on several national committees with the Society for Public Health Education (SOPHE), is an NCHEC Ambassador, reviews abstracts for professional conferences, and reviews manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals.
