Markin Fall 2020 Policies and Procedures

What you need to know when entering Markin

  • A Bradley ID is required for access passed the Control Desk. Individuals will not be granted access without a Bradley ID. This policy is applicable to any reason for entering Markin including but not limited to, use of fitness areas, Group Fitness Class attendance, Intramural Sports, Club Sports and Academic classes.
  • Guest passes will NOT be available. Individuals that will be granted access to Markin must be a student, faculty or staff member and/or a Markin Alumni Member. Family of current members who have a Family Membership are also welcome.
  • A face covering is required to enter Markin:
    • Face coverings are not required while utilizing equipment or running on the track. If you are walking on the track, a face covering is required. Lanes on the track have been identified for walking, running and passing.
  • 6-ft physical distance is to be maintained at all times.
  • All strength and cardio equipment has been spaced to meet CDC and IDPH physical distance guidelines.
  • Partner workouts are prohibited. Spotting is allowed; however, each person must wear a face covering
  • Only one piece of equipment is allowed to be used at a time. Circuit training is only allowed in the Functional Training Zone located on the south side of Markin when available.
  • No contact activities are allowed (MMA, wrestling, partner dancing, pickup basketball, etc.)
  • Towel service will NOT be provided. Individuals will need to bring their own towels for working out.
  • Showers will NOT be available for use.
  • There are 14 sanitizer stations located throughout Markin. Please utilize these stations and clean your equipment following use.
  • Daily lockers in the locker rooms will not be available- daily lockers throughout the facility will be available on a limited basis. It will be the responsibility of the user to sanitize the locker when done using it.
  • It is recommended that all users arrive at Markin in their workout attire and plan to leave in the same attire.
  • The pool will be available for lap swim only; only one person per lane will be allowed.

What is our staff doing to keep things safe?

  • Staff will be wearing a face covering at all times.
  • Additional staff will be working during every shift to:
    • Manage area capacities
    • Manage cleanliness of equipment and areas
    • Manage policies and procedures
  • Staff will clean all equipment following the closure of Markin every night
