What is the hometown scholar program?

The Bradley University Hometown Scholars Program (BUHSP), is a groundbreaking initiative exclusively designed for students who attend highschool in Peoria or neighboring cities. Our program seeks to bridge the educational and financial gaps that can stand between hard-working students and their dream of a college education. We won't only unlock doors for you; we'll walk you through them with the support of the staff from our Office of Inclusive Excellence. We offer an enriched support system, from a low counselor-to-student ratio to an array of academic services, ensuring you're not just attending college but excelling in it.

Who is eligible to be a Hometown Scholar?

  • Students who have a minimum 3.25 GPA
  • Have attended and graduated from a high school in Peoria, IL
  • Students who have applied and been admitted into Bradley
  • Students who belong to an underrepresented population
  • Students who have filed FAFSA and demonstrated financial need

How do I apply?

Students who are eligible for the Hometown Scholars Program will receive an invitation to apply after that have been admitted into Bradley.

What are the benefits of this program?

BUHSP students will receive the most competitive financial aid packages on campus.

Additionally, students receive academic support, leadership development, mentoring, and additional services.
