Dr. Kevin Stein named Distinguished Professor of English

Dr. Kevin Stein has received appointment as Distinguished Professor of English. This is a rare designation awarded based on outstanding qualifications.

During his 33 years at Bradley, Dr. Stein, Caterpillar Professor of English, has continually revised and redeveloped his teaching style. His students say he is thorough, fair and well organized. His colleagues say he is the most prolific faculty member in the Department of English.

Dr. Stein has published eight volumes of poetry, three scholarly books, two anthologies and numerous poems and essays. He received the Putnam Award this year at the annual Founder's Day Convocation and also holds the distinction of being the Illinois Poet Laureate for 14 years. In this capacity, he represented Bradley as he engaged the state’s residents through nearly 250 presentations, poetry readings, school visits and judging activities.
