Collegium Musicum Presents “Dances of Turtledoves and Savages”

The Collegium Musicum, Bradley University’s student early music consort, will present a recital on Sunday, December 6, at 7:30 p.m. in Dingeldine Music Center.

From the School of Notre Dame to the Paris stage; from the sonorous polyphony of the Franco-Flemish School to the rhythmic complexity of the Ars Subtilior; from intricate French baroque ornaments to the grand tradition of French baroque opera, join the Collegium for a performance both intimate and wild. They will perform music from the 13th-18th centuries by Machaut, Josquin, Hotteterre, Rameau, and more.

Directed by Affiliate Instructor Lisette Kielson, Collegium core musicians Clara Capriotti (recorder, flute) and Maggie Sloter (mezzo-soprano, recorder, trombone) will be joined by the Hilltop String Quartet (Julie Haring, Molly Wilson, Lindsay Kozlowski, Billy Akers), and staff accompanist Molly Sloter.

Admission is free and open to the public with refreshments following the performance. For more information, call 309-750-3234.
