Bradley Named "Best College Value”

December 16, 2016

Bradley has once again been named to Kiplinger’s Personal Finance’s list of the Best College Values of 2017. Bradley is listed as number 81 on the magazine’s list of 100 best values in private universities. This is the eighth consecutive year that Bradley has been recognized by Kiplinger’s.

Provost Dr. Walter Zakahi says “This ranking recognizes the great value and the great educational experience Bradley provides. It demonstrates that a Bradley education is both high quality and affordable. We are pleased to be recognized as one of the best universities in the nation.”

The publication considers such factors as retention rate, class size, test scores of incoming freshmen and graduation rates, as well as cost data, including tuition, fees, room and board and financial aid.

Introduced in 1998, the rankings now combine public schools, private universities and private liberal arts colleges into a single, comprehensive list. Kiplinger also ranks the top 100 best values in each category.

“There’s no way around it: College is expensive, and it’s going to stay that way for a long time. So, with our rankings—which weigh affordability alongside academic quality—our goal is to help students and their parents understand what’s really worth the price,” said Janet Bodnar, Editor of Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine. “While some may have ranked higher than others, all 300 schools on the list are of extraordinary value, being chosen out of a universe of 1,200.”

The complete rankings are now available online at kiplinger.com/links/colleges and will appear in print in the February 2017 issue of Kiplinger’s Personal Finance, on newsstands January 3rd.
