24-Hour Bike-A-Thon to Help Support Disabled Individuals

September 25, 2017

Each semester on the Hilltop includes a 24-hour Bike-A-Thon for the Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity. For one entire day and night, students and faculty are invited to help kick off Pi Kappa Phi's philanthropy week benefitting those who are mentally or physically disabled. This is done through a cause known as The Ability Experience - Pi Kappa Phi's national philanthropy entirely operated by the fraternity's members.

Philanthropy Chair Brian Cheline said, "Being an organization that supports individuals with disabilities, we want to use shared experiences to support said individuals."

From 12 PM Monday to 12 PM Tuesday, participates are able to sign up for 1-hour shifts to ride one of two stationary bikes in front of Bradley Hall. This is a symbolic event that not only marks the start of Pi Kappa Phi's philanthropy week, but also represents the men's dedication to their fraternity and all peoples with disabilities.
