The Bradley Advantage

As a Bradley journalism major, you discover news reporting is more than writing stories on deadline. You learn to write investigative reports as well as magazine features. You also explore broadcast journalism, video production, graphic design, photography and web journalism. As a multi-media journalist, you will report stories across all new and social media platforms. Additionally, you can participate in weeklong “expedition” trips to meet professionals who work in national media hub cities. Outside the classroom, you can participate in student media organizations, the nationally-recognized Bradley speech team and student clubs affiliated with professional organizations like the Society of Professional Journalists. You also can intern for local and national news outlets.

Successful Outcomes

Bradley’s journalism program successfully prepares you to enter the workforce or continue your education. In recent years, almost all journalism students found jobs or enrolled in graduate school within six months of graduation. They’re working at places such as local television stations, the Washington Post, and Nordstrom. Others are attending graduate school at Ball State University, Northwestern University and the University of Illinois.
