Bradley’s management information systems-business analytics program prepares you to create descriptive, predictive and prescriptive information used to make important business decisions.
MIS blends business and information systems knowledge and tools. In a work environment, MIS professionals bridge the gap between technology development and the use of technology in other disciplines. MIS professionals help others use technology to do their jobs. The business analytics concentration teaches you how to access, manage and use data to create information that can aid organizational decisions. Courses give you a foundation in skills needed to handle, organize, mine, analyze, visualize and interpret data. All MIS students complete a semester-long consulting project for a local business or nonprofit organization. The MIS major also offers a general degree and a concentration in cybersecurity.
MIS majors are in demand for some of the nation’s fastest growing careers in business analytics such as business analysts, database administrators, data analysts or data architects. With experience, graduates are prepared to transition to careers such as data engineers, data scientists and data and analytics managers. In recent years, all Bradley MIS graduates found jobs or continued to graduate school within six months of graduation. They are working for companies such as Caterpillar, Underwriters Laboratories, Honeywell and State Farm Insurance.
