The theme for the 3rd Annual Super Brain Summit is “Change Your Brain, Change Your Life: Understanding Trauma” and features:
Daniel G. Amen, MD, a physician, double board-certified psychiatrist, 10-time New York Times bestselling author and international speaker. He also founded Amen Clinics, located in seven cities across the country, which developed the world’s largest database of functional brain scans, totaling 135,000 scans of patients from 111 countries. In addition to publishing more than 70 articles based on his researching using the database, Amen also is the lead researcher on the world’s largest imaging and rehabilitation study on professional football players.
Bessel van der Kolk, M.D., researches how children and adults adapt to traumatic
experiences. He has translated emerging neuroscience and attachment research to develop and study potentially effective treatments for traumatic stress.
