Bradley and VirtuSense Collaborate to Create Beneficent NEXT Createathon
In collaboration with Bradley University, VirtuSense Technologies will host a NEXT Createathon from Oct. 21-23, 2022. VirtuSense, founded by Bradley University alumnus Deepak Gaddipati, specializes in the health care-engineering-artificial intelligence space.
Approximately 60 Bradley University students will participate with Bradley and VirtuSense mentors. The university’s senior leadership, as well as local entrepreneurs and dignitaries from the community will serve as judges for the awards. The Caterpillar College of Engineering and Technology and the Foster College of Business will co-host the event in the Business and Engineering Convergence Center.
NEXT Createathon Challenge: Every day 10,000 Americans turn 65, and 90% of them have chronic health conditions. By 2040, 21% of the population will be 65 or older. The need for care and support is increasing, but the population of caregivers is declining. According to AARP, 87% of older adults prefer to age in place at home. There are many challenges to overcome including income disparities, transportation, access to reliable WiFi, and technology that’s easy to use for those who aren’t tech-savvy. The challenge for the Hackathon teams is to create a solution that will help older adults remain independent and safe during the 40-hour event. This is an opportunity for student teams to compete for $2,000 in prizes!
Bradley students can register for the NEXT Createathon here.
We are accepting the first 50 students that sign up.
Registration ends Oct. 18, 2022, at 11:59 p.m. CST.
