Certificate In Autoethnography: A Qualitative Research Method

Welcome to the first formal Autoethnography credential.

This six-week online certificate is designed for students and scholars located anywhere in the world who want to learn more about doing autoethnographic research.* You’ll be immersed into the world of Autoethnography, a qualitative research method that merges the practices of life writing with the practices of ethnography.

This certificate offers the exciting opportunity to learn from and engage with Dr. Tony Adams, a renowned Autoethnography expert and Caterpillar Professor and Chair of the Department of Communication at Bradley University. Upon completion of the certificate, you’ll have the tools to describe and systematically analyze personal experiences and connect them to cultural, political, and social meanings and understandings.

* Although this certificate program does not offer academic course credit, some students may be able to pursue course credit by proposing this program as a component of an independent/tutored study at their home institution.
