Bradley University’s Telehealth Certificate is designed for current (or future) healthcare professionals, including nurses, physicians, counselors, and social workers, who want to improve their ability to provide virtual care in an efficient, effective, and ethical manner. Under the expert guidance of Bradley’s Nursing Department faculty, you’ll walk away with new tools and skills to help you navigate today’s telehealth landscape.

What You'll Learn

The Bradley University Telehealth Certificate consists of eight self-paced modules on the following topics:

  1. Module 1: Introduction to Telehealth
  2. Module 2: Legal and Ethical Issues
  3. Module 3: Best Practices in Telehealth and Reimbursement
  4. Module 4: Completing a General Exam
  5. Module 5: Completing a Respiratory Exam
  6. Module 6: Completing an Abdominal Exam
  7. Module 7: Completing a Neuro Exam. Conducting a Behavioral Health Visit
  8. Module 8: The Future - Rules, Regulations and Policies

What You'll Earn

After successful completion of all eight modules, you’ll earn a digital certificate and badge from Bradley University that you can display on your resume, social media sites, and LinkedIn page. These digital documents include detailed metadata that you can show your current or future employer to help you advance in your career. You’ll also receive an electronic letter verifying you have completed 16 contact hours of professional development.

Please note: Bradley University is licensed by the State of Illinois to confer continuing education hours for LPC, LCPC, LSW, LMFT, LCP, RN, LPN, APN, PT, PTA, and Speech Pathology professionals, and has applied for a license to confer hours for Occupational Therapists. Please refer to your state code to verify if your state will accept continuing education hours licensed by the State of Illinois.

How You'll Learn

The Telehealth Certificate integrates engaging videos, readings, and assessments. Each module will include a narrated PowerPoint and learning activities such as discussion boards and quizzes. Modules 4, 5, 6, and 7 will also include videos of "patient interactions” to further enhance your learning experience.

Technical Requirements

To complete this certificate, you’ll need a current email account and access to a computer and the internet, preferably using Google Chrome as your internet browser.

Bobby Lucia

Dr. Bobby Lucia
Assistant Professor
Bradley University

Dr. Lucia is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Nursing at Bradley University and an Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Peoria.

Dr. Lucia has been teaching in higher education in some capacity since 2012 and has taught in both the undergraduate and graduate settings. Dr. Lucia started his career at the Children’s Hospital of Illinois in 2010 as a mental health provider in Pediatric Palliative Care. He worked closely with patients with devastating diagnoses companioning them through their end-of-life journey.

In 2015, he joined the Cystic Fibrosis Clinic at OSF Healthcare as the inpatient clinical coordinator. This innovate role was created to help manage the inpatient consult service for cystic fibrosis patients in both the pediatric and adult setting. In 2019, Dr. Lucia moved into clinical practice at OSF OnCall Urgent Care and eventually was the Lead Provider for the region.

At the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Lucia helped provide clinical and leadership support for a COVID-19 telehealth service that provides virtual medical care and remote patient monitoring for COVID-19 patients throughout the state of Illinois. Dr. Lucia continues to maintain clinical practice in the virtual urgent care setting, primary care setting, and a pediatric sleep medicine clinic.

Dr. Lucia is passionate about healthcare leadership and has received training at Harvard University in both Foundational Leadership and Remote Leadership. Additionally, he received training from the University of South Florida in Inclusive and Ethical Leadership.
