Biography
Dr. Mai Singh joined Bradley University’s Department of Nursing in January 2022. She teaches courses in the online graduate nursing programs. She earned her BSN and MSN in Education from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2012 and 2018, respectively. She received an MS in Pharmaceutical and Forensic Sciences from the University of Florida in Gainesville in 2010. In May of 2021, Dr. Singh earned her DNP with an emphasis in Leadership from Bradley University. Her DNP project focused on the utilization of an educational program to alleviate secondary traumatic stress symptoms in Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners.
Dr. Singh has clinical experience in emergency services; forensic nursing; preoperative/postoperative nursing in pain management, endoscopy lab, interventional radiology, day surgery, and non-invasive cardiology.
Dr. Singh loves traveling internationally and enjoys spending time with her husband and three standard poodles.
Teaching
Teaching has always been her passion. She has more than nine years of experience as a clinical nurse preceptor. She started her career in formal nursing education in 2019, in which she has taught clinical rotations and didactic courses for ADN and BSN programs. Courses include: Health Assessment, Fundamentals in Nursing, Medical/Surgical Nursing, Nursing Leadership, and Capstone.
Scholarship
Dr. Singh was a forensic DNA scientist for eight years prior to starting her nursing career. She has testified in numerous criminal cases around the nation as an expert DNA witness. She currently practices as a certified SANE and testifies as an expert witness for forensic nursing.
Service
Dr. Singh is a member of International Association of Forensic Nurses, American Academy of Forensic Sciences, and Association of Forensic DNA Analysts and Administrators.
Licensures and Certifications
Dr. Singh holds RN licenses in TX, CA, and IL. She is certified in BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and ENPC. She also holds certification as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner in Texas, where she conducts forensic examinations on adults and adolescents.
