Building a Beautiful City: Adventures in Planning
This class will take a creative journey to design and build our very own beautiful
city. First, we will brainstorm and sketch city layouts and then use recycled
materials to build model buildings and structures. Next, we’ll work together to
assemble an ultimate city layout. Then we’ll also learn about famous cities
around the world and what structures make them unique. Finally, we'll explore
the variety of occupations it takes to keep a beautiful city running smoothly.

I’ve Got Goosebumps
Enter if you dare! Are you ready to embark on a thrilling escapade filled with
ghosts, monsters, and mysteries galore? Join us as we delve into the imaginative
realm of spooky tales with the Goosebumps series by R. L. Stine. Through
interactive storytelling sessions and engaging activities, we’ll explore the story
structure and develop critical thinking skills. We will learn what elements
make Goosebumps so scary, and use those elements to write our own scary
stories!


1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. Class 1203 (Cindy Dollman)
Counting Champions: What does it take to be an Olympian?
Experience the excitement of the Olympics while honing your math skills. How high
is the high jump? How fast is the fastest runner? Using measurements like distance,
time, speed, our mathletes will find out what it takes to be an Olympian. Through a
series of engaging activities, games, and challenges, we’ll explore math concepts
with an Olympic twist. But watch out! Not only will we find out who are the best of
the best athletes in the world, we’ll see if WE have what it takes to compete in our
own summer-fun obstacle-course like activities each day!
