Biography

Joe Tiemann is a professional trombonist living in the central Illinois area and currently teaches the Low Brass Studio members and conducts the Low Brass Choir. Prior to his appointment at Bradley University he taught at Heartland Community College in Normal Illinois.

Joe holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of South Florida where he studied with Tom Brantley. Joe has performed with the Alabama Symphony, the Southwest Florida Symphony, the Champaign-Urbana Symphony Orchestra, and the Sinfonia da Camera Orchestra. Joe has also soloed with various groups such as the Decatur Municipal Band, the Capitol Sounds Concert Band, and the Illinois State University trombone choir. Mr. Tiemann is also very active in the Jazz scene having played with The Decatur Big Band, The Heartland Jazz Orchestra, Take 10, The Northend Jazz Ensemble, The Jazz Train, and many others. Mr. Tiemann has performed in the pit of several Broadway shows including, The Music Man, The King and I, Wicked, The Book of Mormon, Hair, and Kinky Boots.
