In the fall of 2023, a new living learning community will be offered on two floors of Geisert Hall for freshman students only. Billed as a “Community for Thinkers & Tinkerers and Entrepreneurs & Dreamers” this experience in residential life is open to ALL MAJORS.

SEI 200 Innovation for All (3 hours) with Dr. Talkington, instructor. This course meets the "Multidisciplinary Integration" requirement in the Bradley Common Core. This curriculum transforms a room of strangers into a ‘community of innovators’ who are charged with developing courage to rethink and reinvent their industries. Case studies involves looking at entrepreneurs who scaled innovative product ideas into major brands and companies - reshaping and leading entire industries along the way. Topics include: green chemistry, circular economy, corporate social responsibility, environmental goals, carbon footprinting, climate science, product innovation, social mission, and change agents. Intentional emphasis on science literacy to make decisions about sustainability. Experiential component involves creating podcasts about course topics and interviews with local startups.

To Apply

Step 1: Attend a virtual information session; this is an optional step (dates below).

Step 2: Answer just ONE question: Tell us WHY you want to live in a community focused on innovation and sustainability?

Step 3: Once your enrollment fee is paid then fill out the official housing application through Bradley housing.

Step 4: Schedule a 1-on-1 interview with Dr. Hashimoto in May 2023. Everyone who applies will be automatically invited to all the innovation events that the Turner School and Peoria have to offer.

Process

Housing applications are accepted November 2022 to May 2023.

Selection is a competitive process. Once an application is received, individual interviews with Dr. Marcos Hashimoto must be scheduled by incoming students for late May 2023.

Applicants will be notified of decisions by email June 4, 2023.
