Weather Related Campus Operations Announcement

UPDATED: 2/3/22 at 2:00 p.m. — Bradley University will resume regular operations Friday, February 4, 2022. Thank you for your patience and cooperation over the past two days.
UPDATED: 2/3/22 at 10:00 a.m. — Geisert Dining Hall is open today for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Michel Student Center food court (P.O.D., Chick-fil-A and Marketplace Deli) is open until 10 p.m. Williams Dining Hall is open for lunch today with dinner service TBD. Center Court Bistro is open for beverage and snack service.
UPDATED: 2/3/22 at 9:00 a.m. — The bookstore will open at 9 a.m. this morning and plans to close at 4:30 p.m. The library is open today until midnight.
UPDATED: 2/2/22 at 7:30 p.m. — Due to weather conditions, we have suspended Safety Cruiser service for the evening. The Safety Cruiser service will resume on February 3, 2022, at 5 p.m.
UPDATED: 2/2/22 at 2:00 p.m. — With continued snowfall and poor travel conditions, we are modifying campus operations for Thursday, Feb. 3. Operations for tomorrow will mirror today. We currently plan to return to normal campus operations Friday.
Classes
Classes will be held remotely Thursday, Feb. 3.
Students, please visit Canvas and watch for instructions from your instructor regarding how your class will meet.
Instructors, please maintain course continuity through the channels listed below. For more ideas and resources for remote teaching, see Keep Teaching. If you need assistance, contact the IT Service Desk or call (309) 677-2964.
- Communicate with your students about how you will hold class by using a class Announcement in Canvas
- Meet synchronously with Google Meet
- Collect assignments electronically using the Assignments tool in Canvas
Employees
The university will not be closed, and classes are not canceled, so it’s crucial you talk to your supervisor to determine requirements respective to your departments' staffing needs.
Campus Buildings and Services
Campus dining locations, Health Services, and the student center are slated to operate under regularly scheduled hours Thursday, and the Markin Center will operate from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Please note dining services were modified for today. The library is closed today and hours are TBD for Thursday. All academic buildings are open today and will also be open Thursday.
Should services change, we will post an announcement online and on Bradley’s social media accounts.
Parking
Students, faculty and staff who are on campus should be parked in one of the parking decks. Please move your vehicles from all surface parking lots (including St. James) and roadways to facilitate snow removal. Vehicles remaining are subject to ticketing and/or towing. Both campus parking decks will be open and available for student and employee use.
Bradley Avenue, Main Street and University Street are designated snow routes within the City of Peoria. The city has issued a parking ban through 6 pm on Thursday, February 3. Parking on designated snow routes is prohibited until the ban is lifted. Vehicles parked on a snow route during a ban are subject to a fine by the City of Peoria.
Continue to take all precautions and remember safety is of the utmost importance during these conditions.
UPDATED: 2/2/22 at Noon — The Cullom-Davis Library will remain closed today.
UPDATED: 2/2/22 at 10:00 a.m. — Geisert Dining Hall is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner today. Williams Hall will be open for lunch. We will assess dinner operations for Williams Hall later today and will post signage on site with details. The P.O.D. in Michel Student Center is open for coffee and snacks. UPDATED: 2/2/22 at 8:30 a.m. — Due to weather and staffing issues, the Cullom-Davis Library will not be open this morning. We will reassess the situation mid-day. Please keep an eye on Bradley’s website and social media for further updates.
ORIGINAL ANNOUNCEMENT: 2/1/22 at 3:15 p.m. — Due to the impending weather conditions, we will modify campus operations for Wednesday, Feb. 2. We will make a decision about Thursday’s operations on Wednesday and communicate with you then.
