Center for Business and Economic Research

Founded in 1979, the Center for Business and Economic Research (CBER) provides local media, business, not-for-profit and government agencies with quarterly reports on local business and economic trends, based on the CBER’s seasonally adjusted economic database; reports on local area household surveys of consumer confidence; and performs on-demand contract research, consulting reports and services. The CBER identifies and recruits the expert faculty, student employees, databases and advanced statistical software needed for project performance, and manages the project to ensure ongoing access to these resources over the course of the grant. The CBER hosts several faculty colloquia every semester to share research ideas, and facilitate faculty projects that utilize the data generated by the Center.
