Students choosing special education will major in the Learning Behavior Specialist I (LBS I) program. The State of Illinois Professional Educator's License with an endorsement in LBSI qualifies individuals to teach children between the ages of Pre-K and 21 with a wide range of disabilities: LD, ED, Intellectual Disabilities, Autism, TBI, Orthopedic, and Other Health Impairments (not including vision or hearing). Courses required to earn an English as a Second Language endorsement are built into this program. Additional course work is required for the Early Childhood Special Education Approval.
