Research Opportunities

Independent Research: Research experience is ranked as one of the most highly considered factors in graduate school admission. If you are interested in a Ph.D. degree in Psychology, it is a necessity. Moreover, recent Psychology alumni cite these research experiences as some of the most valuable (and fun) of their undergraduate careers.

TraciThe courses PSY 481 and PSY 491 are reserved for conducting research under the supervision of a specific faculty member. (Refer to the faculty Web sites for information about their individual research interests.) To participate, students must have an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher. It's best to pursue research opportunities as a sophomore or junior, so that you can continue to be a member of the research team for at least a year. Generally, faculty members look for students who are very reliable and have an intellectual curiosity about the field of Psychology.

Other Research Experience: Besides the research opportunities offered at Bradley University, students can participate in summer research programs offered at large research universities throughout the United States. For example, our students have been selected to participate in the APA Summer Science Institute (SSI) as well as other summer programs such as the National Science Foundation (NSF) Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program.
