Jeremy Evans was initiated into Delta Nu on May 2, 1998. Due to a low number of active members, he quickly became quite active in the chapter, holding the office of Secretary for one year. He then held the office of President for one year, and PCR for one year. In his time as an active, he helped to eliminate the chapter's debt, worked to get the "24 Hours of Music" fundraiser off the ground, and helped the chapter make substantial organizational changes which have helped efficiency and effectiveness. He has two Sinfonian sons, Carl Bobis and Kyle Buckman.
Most alumni try to make contributions to the fraternity after they graduate, but Jeremy found a unique way to do so -- by working for the fraternity! Jeremy was named the fraternity's first Retreat Coordinator. He resides at Lyrecrest North, the home of the fraternity's historical archives, and works with chapters who come to visit the headquarters every weekend. He's had the opportunity to see the insides of just about every problem a chapter could have, and the experience he has gained through interacting with brothers from around the country has been invaluable. "Working at the headquarters is kind of surreal; this place we talk about all through our college careers is now our home!" Jeremy has met and interacted with Sinfonians of such reknown as the National President, Darhyl Ramsey, as well as the rest of the National Executive Committee. This summer, he'll be going to Washington DC with the staff for the fraternity's National Assembly. His employment at Lyrecrest is limited to a one-year stint with a possibility of a one-year renewal, but he has decided not to apply for the renewal. "While it's always been a dream to work for the fraternity, it's not my career, and I need to get started on whatever that might be!"
Jeremy is planning to move back to the central Illinois area after his tour of duty at Lyrecrest is over, and work locally with the chapter as Alumni Secretary. He is currently dating Nicole Vitale, whom he's been dating for 14 months. His hope for the future is that the Delta Nu chapter continue to strive to be the best it can be, and never settle for what's easy. He hopes to see more alumni events and fundraisers in the near future.
