Research Excellence & Development (REC)

REC grants fund projects to initiate new areas of research and creative production, to conduct pilot and planning projects for larger, externally-funded projects, or to prepare work for publication.

*Please note: Funding for faculty salary or travel related to sabbatical leaves may not be eligible for REC funds. Please notify the OTEFD office prior to submission if the project period might coincide with sabbatical leave.*

Faculty and staff who have not received REC funds for two (2) years are eligible. Allowable expenses include the payment of subjects, research assistants or other non-faculty personnel, necessary equipment and supplies, or travel that is essential to conducting the research (travel to conferences is not allowed).

For research using HUMAN/ANIMAL subjects: The proposal must include appropriate approval of human use or animal use committees if human or animal subjects are used in the research/creative production. For more information, please go to Committee on the Use of Human Subjects in Research (CUHSR)

Summer Stipend Awards

The Research Excellence Committee Summer Stipend Award Program is intended to assist faculty in completing major scholarly or creative activity during summer months. This award provides an allowance for either one or two summer sessions. Please refer to the Summer Stipend Award Guidelines for more information.

Instructions to Electronically Submit Completed Proposals

• Complete the"Grant Application Form" and save and print for your records.
• Complete the requirements indicated in the guidelines, including recommendation statements letters of support.
• Attach all required forms to an email and send to the OTEFD office at otefd@bradley.edu.
