Committee Structure
Committee meetings are held prior to each Parents’ Board meeting. All members of the Parents’ Board of Directors are assigned to one of the committees described below. If you would prefer to be assigned to one of the other committees, please contact Jane Linnenburger, Executive Director, Smith Career Center at 309-677-2515 or by e-mail jane@bradley.edu.
Enrollment Management & Retention Committee

The Enrollment Management and Retention Committee provides the parent perspective in the recruiting process and supports the Center for Enrollment Management’s efforts to recruit new students to Bradley. Members also support the Center for Student Support Services in student retention efforts. Members may assist through active participation in various recruiting activities or by giving input on the recruiting and retention processes. Activities include:
- telephone calls to the parents of prospective students
- assisting with college night programs
- hosting small gatherings of prospective students and their parents
- assisting with new recruitment projects
Advancement Committee

The Advancement Committee activities include:
- advise the fundraising efforts for the Parent Projects Fund
- direct and evaluate parent fundraising activities through the Bradley Fund office
- evaluate parent project proposals submitted by University departments for support from the Parent Projects Fund
- make project recommendations to the Board for parent funding
Fundraising strategies for the Parent Projects Fund include:
- direct mail in the fall
- telemarketing efforts in the spring
Smith Career Center Committee

The Smith Career Center Committee provides new ideas, feedback and resources that will enhance the effectiveness of the Smith Career Center’s outreach programs to students. The committee assists with the:
- BU Mentor Network of Bradley parents
- development of mailings to parents of current students
- encouraging networking among students, alumni and prospective employers
- outreach to prospective employers
Parents' Board Executive Committee

The Executive Committee of the Parents’ Board of Directors exists to plan, develop and produce ad hoc and continuing projects in support of the Parents’ Association Board of Directors and the parents of all Bradley University students. Examples of projects undertaken by this committee are:
- production of the Bradley University Parents’ calendar
- parent involvement with Move-in Weekend
- presentation of the Parents’ Annual Award of Excellence to a Bradley staff or faculty member
- development and maintenance of Parents’ Association web pages
- Parents' Board Recognition Luncheon
