For purposes of this policy, the term "animal" includes any wild or domesticated, warm-blooded or cold-blooded animal or insect.
All dogs and other pets are to be tagged and inoculated in accordance with county and city regulations.
Dogs and pets will be under leash by the owner at all times.
No dogs or pets (including fish) are allowed in campus buildings or classrooms; unless for purposes of a service animal and/or emotional support animal as defined within the American with Disabilities Act. The person or persons who continually violate the above will have the appropriate disciplinary action taken.
Exceptions will be made, as mutually agreed upon, for students and/or student organizations whose primary responsibilities is training animals for use as a service animal.
Exceptions will be made, as documented and approved through Student Access Services, for those students with emotional support animals in the residence halls and/or St. James Apartments.
Prohibition Against Animal Abuse
Animals may not be used in pranks or otherwise for amusement or ceremony in connection with any individual or group function or activity. Violation of this policy or any other abuse of animals shall be grounds for disciplinary action.
Students who violate University policy associated with animals and pets may be subject to University conduct sanctions.
