Entrepreneurial Internships
An entrepreneurial internship is the solution for students wanting to apply classroom concepts to real-world situations. Entrepreneurial interns typically work 150 hours during a semester for a growth-oriented entrepreneurial company. Most are paid positions. Entrepreneurial internships will appear on transcripts and can be taken for credit or non-credit.
What to Expect
The tasks you will perform as an intern vary according to the needs of the business, but could include any of the following:
- Analyzing customer trends
- Assessing and considering business models
- Conducting a value chain study for an industry/market
- Creating a business plan to support a funding request
- Creating and managing customer retention events
- Defining a project designed to capture a growth opportunity
- Developing a strategy for a product in the marketplace
- Developing advertising copy, marketing materials, interactive media presentations, and public relations messages
- Evaluating the feasibility of a new product, service, or venture
- Designing and executing a social media campaign
- Formulating an action oriented marketing plan
- Performing project assessments to support growth activities
