Members of the nationally ranked Bradley University Speech Team will perform “Night Before Nationals” with their championship presentations on Friday, March 29 and Saturday, March 30. The performances are in Neumiller Lecture Hall located in Bradley Hall at seven o’clock pm (PG) and at nine o’clock pm (R) both nights. There is a five dollars charge. These events will showcase the team performances that will be included in the national championship tournaments in April.
The team departs for the American Forensic Association tournament April 5-8 at Hutchinson Community College, Hutchinson, Kansas. The National Forensic Association tournament is April 18-22 at Marshall in Huntington, West Virginia. The Bradley University team currently holds the 2012 national championship titles from both the AFA and NFA tournaments.
There are several events that will be showcased each night during “Night Before Nationals.” On Friday, events such as Prose interpretation and Informative Speaking are performed. Communication Analysis and Dramatic Interpretation are showcased on Saturday. Multiple speech team members will perform.
Director of Forensics, Ken Young, looks forward to the annual night and believes it is a great opportunity to show Bradley University students and the Peoria neighborhood what they have been working on. Young also stated that he is excited for Nationals.
“The team is looking forward to defending their national championships. Performing for their fellow students, faculty, and administrators feeds their passion to share their messages with as many people as possible and lets them know that they have the support of their university,” Young stated.
Come out and support the Bradley University Speech Team March 29 and 30 before they embark on their next journey to victory.
