Entrepreneurial Internships

An entrepreneurial internship is the solution for students wanting to apply classroom concepts to real-world situations. Entrepreneurial interns typically work 150 hours during a semester for a growth-oriented entrepreneurial company. Most are paid positions. Entrepreneurial internships will appear on transcripts and can be taken for credit or non-credit.

What to Expect

The tasks you will perform as an intern vary according to the needs of the business, but could include any of the following:

  • Analyzing customer trends
  • Assessing and considering business models
  • Conducting a value chain study for an industry/market
  • Creating a business plan to support a funding request
  • Creating and managing customer retention events
  • Defining a project designed to capture a growth opportunity
  • Developing a strategy for a product in the marketplace
  • Developing advertising copy, marketing materials, interactive media presentations, and public relations messages
  • Evaluating the feasibility of a new product, service, or venture
  • Designing and executing a social media campaign
  • Formulating an action oriented marketing plan
  • Performing project assessments to support growth activities
