Two Bradley University students have been selected to participate in NBCUniversal’s internship program for the 2020 Olympics. Senior Hernan Gutierrez and sophomore Miguel Agyei will be stationed in Stamford, Connecticut where the NBC Sports Headquarters is located. During the Olympic competition, their main duties will be logging the game feed coming into the headquarters and creating highlight reels.
“It’s always beautiful to tell the story of athletes, fans, and individuals behind the scenes,” Miguel says,” I can’t wait to help with the process of capturing the stories for this great event.”
Communications professor Dr. Paul Gullifor, says this is an excellent opportunity for students to experience sports on a global stage. “It’s an incredibly sophisticated production and a premier opportunity for our students.”
Both Miguel and Hernan are looking forward to this opportunity. “I can’t think of another event that brings the world together like the Olympics. I applied my freshman year for the Winter Olympics and got an interview, but didn’t end up getting the internship. It pushed me to get experience so I could apply again for the Summer Olympics this year.” says Hernan.
