A group of Bradley University graduates participated in the making of the children’s CD “Me Like Me You Like You” by singer-songwriter Nickella Dee.
The artists include 1995 graduates Evan Beigel and Joelle Beigel and 1996 graduate Christopher Miller, all of the Los Angeles area; and 1998 graduate Laraine Kaizer-Viazovtsev of Las Vegas.
The album includes cheerful tracks about subjects ranging from mini-vans to pirates to pink balloons.
“It’s definitely fun and upbeat,” said Kaizer-Viazovtsev, 36, a Peoria native who graduated from Richwoods High School. She is the daughter of Peoria pianists Ed and Janet Kaizer.
“The album doesn’t have a specific educational purpose, it just (focuses on) things that I remember were swimming around in my head when I was younger – fantasy type things, family, being fascinated with very simple things,” said Kaizer-Viazovtsev, who played violin, viola and mandolin on the album. “It struck me as a little bit unique compared to other children’s albums.”
Dee is a piano teacher, singer-songwriter and stay-at-home mom of two who lives in Pasadena, Calif. Dee launched a Kickstarter campaign and successfully reached her funding goal of $5,000 in May. Recording took place in July.
The album is available at www.cdbaby.com/cd/nickelladee.
