Bradley instructor inducted into prestigious hall of excellence

Dr. Kristi McQuade, associate professor of chemistry, has been inducted into McKendree University’s Academy of Excellence.

“It is quite an honor to be recognized by my alma mater,” said McQuade. “My McKendree professors not only nurtured my love for science and the liberal arts but dramatically expanded my world view and inspired me to become a college professor.”

A 1991 graduate of McKendree in Lebanon, Ill., McQuade earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry. She received a Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1996.

McQuade also has been awarded the Certificate of Merit for Excellence in Service to students. She has mentored over 20 undergraduate researchers and three graduate students. She also has written numerous publications, projects and presentations related to her field of study.

McQuade appreciates the mentoring she received from her professors at McKendree University. “I couldn’t ask for better role models,” she said. “I can only hope to serve in the same role for my students at Bradley.”
