Bradley University will join charities, families, businesses, community centers, and students around the world on December 2 in a common purpose – to celebrate generosity and to give.
December 2nd – #GivingTuesday – is a day dedicated globally to giving back.
This is the first time Bradley has participated in the event, asking alumni and friends of the University to join the world-wide tradition of generosity by making donations to the Bradley scholarship fund.
“Giving Tuesday is a chance for all of us to give back what we can,” said Shelly Smith, Senior Director of the Bradley Fund. “Whether your gift is big or small, it will impact a Bradley student. It’s about saying, I can do this, today… and then doing it.”
#GivingTuesday was started in 2012 by the 92nd Street Y and the United Nations Foundation as a response to commercialization and consumerism in the post-Thanksgiving season.
More than 90% of Bradley students benefit from scholarships or other financial assistance.
