You should have recently received a message from President Roberts with a campus update on operations. In addition to that news, Bradley is moving much of its operations to an alternative workplace scenario Thursday, March 19 until further notice. It continues to be clear that we are taking the wisest course of action to minimize the impact on the health of our employees. Life for all of us will be quite different for a while, and we thank you in advance for your flexibility.
We encourage telecommuting for staff wherever possible with supervisor approval. Those required or allowed to continue working on campus at this time include essential personnel (an essential employee is an employee in a position, previously designated by management, who is required to work on campus during an adverse event in order to meet immediate and necessary campus or university functions), those designated by their supervisor, those who need access to paper files, those who don’t have the ability to work from home and those who prefer to work from campus (these cases need prior approval from a supervisor).
The needs for on-campus support may evolve over time. If you decide to telecommute or are given approval to telecommute, you may be asked to return to campus for your current duties or be deployed to new duties. We ask you to remain flexible.
All employees should limit face to face meetings. Use Google Chat, Google Hangouts and Google Meet as often as possible. If you need assistance learning about applications you can sign up for online workshops. To gather information on the workshops, please email [email protected].
As you work remotely, please remain available during your regular work hours, monitor your email and cell phone and attend virtual meetings when requested. If you choose not to work, you must use available leave (sick time, accrued vacation, etc.). We have developed an FAQ for Human Resources related questions and are constantly updating it.
Most buildings will be locked to the public during business hours due to the limited number of people we expect to be on campus. Employees will have their usual access. The Cullom-Davis Library will also be closed to visitors starting this evening, but you will be able to access many of the resources online.
All technology inquiries should be routed through the IT Service Desk. You can email your question to [email protected], open a help ticket at https://support.bradley.edu or call 309-677-2964 from 8am-5pm. We are developing and regularly updating a technology FAQ that can be found here.
We know these are unprecedented times. Nothing feels certain. One thing we can count on is the dedication of the Bradley Family. Thank you for all your hard work and compassion for each other as we work through this crisis. As further decisions are made, we will keep you posted. Stay tuned to your email and the bradley.edu/coronavirus website.
