When the glass slipper fits, it really does! Maegan Garcia, a senior majoring in the Department of Theatre Arts, accepted a prestigious internship in Disneyland in the wardrobe department
Garcia will be in charge of making sure the cast members are in their costumes and making any necessary repairs to costumes. “This is a very exciting position for me, as a theatre student, who loves to work with costumes” Garcia said.
Rebecca Arnold, Assistant Professor in Costume Design Construction, was very proud to hear of Garcia’s new internship. “Maegan has an ability to think for herself to problem solve. She can see what the solution needs to be and achieves it. She is a pleasant companion to spend a day in the Studio with,” Arnold said
Garcia is looking forward to the many opportunities Disneyland will give her.
“There are a lot of things to look forward to with this internship such as a new experience, the opportunity to put Disney on my resume, the California sun, and the chance to work with the iconic Disney costumes,” Garcia said.
Garcia will travel to California in January, where she will work in the place where dreams really do come true.
