Hey guys, I hope y’all are having a great last semester of your senior year. It is crazy to think that around a year ago I was deciding where I would go to college. I would really like to share my out of state experience in choosing the perfect college for me. I am the first in my family to go to college in this country, which made this decision super important. My counselor Toni Chandler at Bradley was super helpful with facilitating the transition from high school to college. So, I wanted to take a few minutes to talk about the main categories that made me decide on Bradley.

The first thing on my list was to gather the names of colleges that met my size requirement. When I was looking at colleges I wanted a place that was not too big because I did not want to be one sitting in a class of hundreds but rather someone that my teachers would know. In Texas, that perfect size that I was looking for was hard to come across. My choices were really big schools like A&M and Texas Tech or very small religious schools where resources such as access for internships lacked. It was good to know that when I came to Bradley I could easily make connections with teachers due to the small class sizes. Coming from Texas, it is hard to find the happy medium for distance but when I found that I could stay on campus for breaks such as fall break and Thanksgiving break it was a big relief. For Thanksgiving, my roommate in Illinois invited me over to his house and it was a new and fun experience to have. Last but not least (there are many other factors not mentioned in this paragraph), one of the biggest factors of choosing Bradley is how I felt during my visit there. When I was on my tour, it just made me feel like I belonged here. At that moment I realized that my time at Bradley would be very personalized and community-oriented. It was so nice to be able to meet with the faculty and get an idea of how my classes are going to look in my time at Bradley.  If you have any questions about my experience, feel free to ask any questions.
