Things to do off-campus in Peoria!

If there is one thing I can tell you about being at Bradley- know that you will NEVER be bored!! There is so much to do on campus, but even more to do right off of campus!

About a 10-minute drive off of campus is East Peoria. You can find all the fast food your heart could want, and it’s the best go-to shopping area. Food options are plentiful, including Taco Bell, Wendy’s, Culver’s, Buffalo Wild Wings, Panera, Chili’s, Chick-fil-A, Panda Express, Texas Roadhouse, Arby’s, and so much more. We also have a Target, Walmart, Aldis, Ross, Shoe Carnival, Encore, and other shopping stores for anything and everything you may need.

If you’re the type of person that is a coffee connoisseur (like myself) there are so many coffee shops around. My personal favorite is “The Spot”, we also have Thirty-Thirty Coffee, Zion Coffee Bar, Leaves and Beans, and then, of course, Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts.

In the opposite direction is Peoria Heights with LOTS to do. Peoria Heights is a great place to go for sit-down meals that are nicer than fast food but still in the budget. My personal favorite is Schooner’s which is delicious comfort food, The Publik House which is a little nicer but has great bar/pub-style food, or Leaves and Beans which is the cutest little coffee shop that I love to do homework in. Peoria Heights also has Grand View Drive which is the most beautiful drive through a really nice neighborhood that overlooks pretty hilly Peoria and the river (it’s my all-time favorite thing to do in Peoria). Peoria Heights also has tons of cute little boutiques to look through if you’re in the mood to shop around.

We have two different malls in Peoria too if you’re the type of person that likes to stress-shop (me!!). The first one is Shoppes At Grande Prairie which is an outdoor mall that has pretty much every store you can think of (H&M, Marshalls, Sporting Goods, PINK, Victoria’s Secret, Dry Goods, Apricot Lane, America’s Best Vision Care, etc.). Then there’s Northwoods Mall with a lot of those same stores as well as Bath & Body Works and American Eagle. They also have Round 1 which is an adult arcade where you can play games, eat, and go bowling.

One of my favorite things to do is go bowling (even though i’m literally so bad at it) and there’s tons of places to do that here for super cheap (Landmark Lanes, Round 1, etc.). Last but not least- MOVIES! The best college past time. We have our very own movie theater (Marty Theater) on campus but if you’re looking for the newest movies to go see, we have the AMC theater Grand Prairie and Willow Knolls which are my two favorite theaters that are always showing the newest releases.

On top of that, downtown Peoria has literally EVERYTHING. We have the Peoria Museum which is AWESOME, the riverwalk, ice cream shops, restaurants, concerts year-round, and so much more. As said before, you can never get bored. There is so much to do, eat, and see in Peoria which is why it’s one of my all-time favorite places!!
