A week-long Foster College of Business silent auction raised $1,847 for the Crittenton Centers.

“The Crittenton Centers positively impact many lives of children and families here in the community,” Foster College Dean Darrell Radson said. “We elected to have the proceeds of our silent auction benefit the Crittenton Centers to help them make an even greater difference this holiday season and throughout the year.”

Various auction items were displayed in the Baker Hall Atrium the week of December 8-12, and the campus community was invited to come view and bid on all items.

Some of the many auction items included a sound bar, a gourmet coffee basket, and a kayak lesson.

A basketball autographed by the entire 1988 Bradley Men’s Basketball team, including hall of famer, Hersey Hawkins, was a popular item with multiple bids.

“I would sincerely like to thank the Foster College’s faculty and staff, as well as the Bradley community, for participating in our silent auction and giving their time, auction items and donations to such a worthy cause,” Radson remarked.

“At this time of year, donations really help ease the stress the holidays can bring,” Crittenton Centers Interim Executive Director Keri Hattan said. “Through support and donations, we work to make sure every child at the center has a gift to open from Santa. Additionally, we ensure that families and children have essential supplies that they need such as diapers, wipes, formula and food.”

“More than anything,” Hattan continued, “we cannot do the work we do every day without the support of our community. We thank the Foster College of Business for its efforts and donation!”

Crittenton Centers’ mission is to protect and nurture children and families.

It has been serving Peoria and all of Central Illinois since 1892. The agency has evolved into a multi-service, multi-million dollar not-for-profit child welfare organization. Its three core services include the Crisis Nursery (emergency and respite care for infants and children ages birth to six years), the Child Development Center (preschool and daycare for infants and children ages six weeks to six years) and educational and support services.
