As the holiday season approaches and the cold weather sets in, Bradley University students, faculty and staff are stepping up to lend a helping hand.  There are a variety of programs being hosted on campus to help those who are less fortunate in our community.

A Hand Up for the Holidays
The Lewis J. Berger Center and Student Activities are partnering with Trewyn K-8 to help provide new uniforms (shirt and pants), gloves and mittens for students to help meet basic needs. The goal is to provide uniforms for 50 students and gloves/hats for even more.  All items must be collected by 5 p.m. on December 16.

If you would like participate, email Jessica Chandler ([email protected]) to secure the name and needs for a child.  One uniform (pant and shirt) will run approximately $25 from Sam Harris.  Or you can send gloves/mittens and hats in campus mail to 020 Harper Hall (Lewis J. Berger Center) or contact Jessica for an on-campus pick up.

For more information contact Tom Coy (ext. 3050) or Jessica Chandler (ext. 3682).

Toy and Clothing Drive
The Bradley chapter of the American Marketing Association is conducting a toy and clothing drive to benefit the Children’s Home of Peoria. New unwrapped toys and clothing will be collected at a table in the Baker Hall atrium from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday November 19. Donations will be delivered to the Children’s Home on December 3.

Book Drive
Mortar Board National Honor Society is conducting a book drive on December 4 for children at the Children’s Hospital at OSF. Donation centers will be located in the Library, Bookstore, and Michel Student Center on the 4th.

Look It’s My Book-Book Drive

Sigma Tau Delta, the English honor society, is holding a book drive to raise funds for Look, It’s My Book, a local nonprofit working to get books into the hands of all children in Peoria School District 150. Books of any kind may be dropped off in green donation boxes found on each floor of Bradley Hall, the atrium of the Library, and the Michel Student Center.
