Senior Jacoby Cochram took home the National Championship at the Interstate Oratorical Association contest held in Shreveport, Louisiana.

In what is consider by many as the most prestigious and certainly the oldest public speaking contest in the country, the 140th Interstate Oratory Contest, the Bradley University Speech Team finished their year with another National Championship.

The Interstate Oratorical Association allows the top 2 students from each state to come to a location and deliver their oratory for top honors.  From Virginia to California, different Universities and Colleges competed for the National Championship.  Bradley University had the two representatives from Illinois. Seniors Brooke Stevenson and Jacoby Cochran competed at the two-day event.  Stevenson was a Semifinalist (Top 12) and Jacoby Cochran took home the National Championship. This marks Bradley’s first win of the Interstate Oratorical Association since 1999. Ken Young and Tanya Melendez are the team coaches.
