Choosing what school I wanted to go to after high school was a big thing for me. Like many of you, I applied to a lot of schools and visited a few schools. In high school, I played water polo and did competitive swimming. I thought that I would want to continue my athletic career in college playing the sports I loved. I focused most of my college search on schools like Penn State, George Washington University, and a few others out there. I thought that the only thing I should be looking for in a school was if I could play a sport there, I was wrong. After doing some more research and visiting schools I came to the realization that it was going to be very hard for me to be studying engineering alongside being an athlete. I knew it was something I could do if I really wanted to, but I also knew that I wanted to have a wholesome college experience where I got to experience everything from rushing a sorority to joining clubs and participating in competitions for my major.
Bradley University was the only school that I looked at that wasn’t for athletics. When I visited the campus my senior year I fell in love immediately. I remember the leaves were just falling or close to falling off the trees, they were pretty auburn and brown colors. I went on a large visit day that was hosted by the admissions office. I got to talk with faculty members and students from the engineering department and they totally convinced me on Bradley. I’m so glad that I decided to not play a sport and come to Bradley instead. I have met so many great and amazing people here that I know will be in my life for more than just my 4 years here.
I know its hard to decide where you want to go to school since its such a huge milestone in your life, but just know that everything will work out in the end. Pick the school that fits for you, not the school other people want you to go to. If you have any questions about if Bradley is right for you, feel free to comment or ask me!
Have a great week!!
