Matt – What I Like To Do In Peoria

When coming to a new city, the first thing a lot of people ask is: what is there to do? If you’ve never been to Peoria before, you may be wondering the same thing, so I am here to give you some guidance on things to do in Peoria. There are a host of things to do, but I am going to be focusing on the two main ones I like the most. 

The first is the Peoria Civic Center. Along with being the host of our men’s basketball games, the Civic Center always has a bunch of different events like any other stadium-like place. They host concerts, conventions, comedians, theater performances, and sporting events! The Civic Center has something for everyone. My favorite show that I have gone to was with my family during my Sophomore year. It was a Cirque du Soleil like performance that was out of this world. After the show, we drove down to the riverfront where there was a delicious array for restaurants for us to choose from. It was a very fun day, and it was nice to have my parents come down. 

My other favorite spot in Peoria is an arcade called Round One. Round one is the jam! My favorite thing about Round One is that it is not just an arcade to win tickets at. There are a bunch of awesome prizes if that is what you are going for, but there are also a bunch of fun arcade games just to play. One of my friends and I have been going there a lot in order to play pinball. He is much better than I am and just broke one billion on one of the machines but still doesn’t have the highest score! We are going to keep trying though until he does. Round One also has a bowling alley and karaoke which are both incredibly fun times as well. If I had the money, I would go to Round One every weekend! As I said, there’s a ton of other things to do in Peoria, but the Civic Center and Round One have definitely been the two best times I have had in Peoria.
