Jessica Yellin is an award-winning political journalist and former CNN chief White House correspondent whose career includes reporting for CNN, ABC, and MSNBC. She covered Capitol Hill, domestic politics and the White House where her work was featured prominently throughout the last three campaign cycles.

As CNN’s chief White House correspondent she interviewed President Obama, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, First Lady Michelle Obama and has also conducted interviews with Presidents Bill Clinton, George H. W. bush and First Lady Laura Bush. Yellin provided extensive coverage from the battleground states during the 2008 and 2010 elections and she has reported from around the globe, including Russia, China, Europe, Latin America and Mongolia. In Washington, Yellin has covered every significant policy debate of the last 10 years including the push to reform the financial regulatory system. In 2010, she won a “Gracie Award” for her reporting on the coverage of women and politics. 

Prior to CNN, Yellin was a White House correspondent for ABC News and an overnight anchor and correspondent for MSNBC. She covered the 2000 recount in Florida as a general assignment report at WTVT-TV in Tampa. She began her broadcast career in 1998 as a general assignment reporter for Orlando’s 24-hour cable news channel, Central Florida News 13. In 1999, she was named morning anchor.

As a writer her work has been published in The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, Entertainment Weekly and Details. Her first job in journalism she served as front of the book editor at Los Angeles Magazine.

Yellin graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Harvard University and graduated from the Westlake School for Girls in Los Angeles where she was student body president.
