Meet Your Student Senate President, Peyton Coburn

Meet the Sports Communication student looking to lead by listening.

June 15, 2026

The high school classmates that pinned Peyton Coburn as “most likely to be president” may have been onto something. As voted on by the Bradley student body, Coburn was recently elected Bradley’s new Student Senate president.

Now a junior and approaching her first semester in charge, she’s come a long way since her first campus visit while being recruited for the women’s golf team.

“I knew Bradley would be both a great educational and athletic opportunity,” she said. “Everyone was so kind and immediately made the campus feel like home.”

For Coburn, a Sports Communication major with minors in Advertising & Public Relations and Journalism, getting to know others and collaborating on projects comes easy. Everything from working with local youth during Night Out with the Braves to quick chats with classmates represent the shared joy of being in the Bradley community. Now, she’s looking to give back.

“My goal as a leader is to be the best listener and advocate for those that rely on me. The key is asking the right questions and giving people the space to tell you their concerns and hopes,” she said.

Coburn has found lots of support from the Bradley community along the way, both from peers, professors, and her predecessor, Al Cuizon Jr., who she’s been working with to ensure a smooth transition.

“The Bradley community has always been welcoming. I believe a lot of that stems from everyone’s common goal to help Bradley reach its fullest potential,” Coburn said.

After graduating, Coburn plans to attend law school, with the hope of working as a sports agent or litigator. Until then, she’ll be connecting with students, enabling them to make their own mark on Bradley’s lasting legacy.

“I truly believe Bradley is an amazing place,” she said. “There is beauty on the Hilltop.”
