Bradley’s Nurses Christian Fellowship chapter donated several hundred pounds of goods to the tornado relief effort following the organization’s fall philanthropic project.
The drive was organized within the nursing department days after the mid-November tornado outbreak and received strong support from students, faculty and staff.
“We’re really thankful people brought things in,” said NCF President Leah Caponigro. “It’s been cool to see how many people were willing to donate.”
Students collected a range of clothing, hygiene and cosmetics items.
NCF faculty sponsor Dr. Kelly Schwend was impressed by the swift response of students looking to help tornado victims.
“People were texting me within hours asking where they could go and I was touched by that, especially with finals and it being a Sunday afternoon,” she said.
