Coming soon to a hallway near you: the accomplishments of Slane College alumni.
Dotting the ground floor of the Caterpillar Global Communications Center are posters from movies and video games that boast a Bradley connection. They represent the many projects in the entertainment industry that a Bradley alumnus from the Slane College of Communications and Fine Arts has worked on.
The featured projects include Hollywood blockbusters like “Lord of the Rings” “Batman Begins,” “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” and smash hit video game “God of War.”
Tami Lane ’96, for example, worked on “Lord of the Rings” and won an Oscar for her work as a makeup artist in “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.” Monique Eissing ’96 helped with the digital effects in “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.”
In the video gaming world, Emily Berger ’11 is featured for her work as a technical artist for the game “God of War.”
“We love showcasing their accomplishments,” said BJ Lawrence, associate dean and lecturer with the college.
She said the posters are meant to both showcase the achievements of past alumni and demonstrate the opportunities a Bradley education can afford to current students.
The placards also serve as a recruiting tool for the college’s Hollywood semester, where Bradley students live and work in Hollywood, Calf., and gain valuable connection inside the entertainment industry.
Right now the posters only occupy the first floor of the GCC but the college hopes to expand it to others. They were first added in July and have been generating quite a buzz among students.
“We are using it to inspire students that they can do great things at Bradley University and the entertainment industry,” Lawrence said.
