Bradley students joined students and teachers at St. Mark School in Peoria for a Literacy Fiesta on April 23 coordinated by Dr. Noreen Dillon and Pat Nedza.
The Literacy Fiesta featured learning activities that included big/picture books and stations created by preservice teachers Bradley’s children’s literature courses taught by Dr. Antola Crow and Dr. Sherrie Pardieck. Students in preschool through fifth grade visited different learning stations and participated in literacy activities as preservice teachers taught their lessons. The stations included stories and activities from well-known authors and illustrators and reading big/picture books.
In addition, children learned to dance to Spanish music and received books and snacks.
The Fiesta displayed creative and quality literacy activities that preservice teachers created for future instructional practices. They taught their exemplary learning projects to children who were eager to come to participate in the literacy activities.
