Professor safe after earthquake, tsunami warning in Chile
Associate Professor of Teacher Education Dr. Cecile Arquette, who is teaching in Valparaiso, Chile, this semester, reported no damage from the April 1 earthquake that rattled northern Chile and prompted a tsunami warning.

Associate Professor of Teacher Education Dr. Cecile Arquette, who is teaching in Valparaiso, Chile, this semester, reported no damage from the April 1 earthquake that rattled northern Chile and prompted a tsunami warning.
The 8.2-magnitude quake was centered 1,000 miles away and prompted an evacuation warning. Arquette and her family briefly retreated to their apartment building’s roof. The earthquake generated a 6-foot wave that only affected the city’s beach.
